We have been running a Women’s Self Defence Course as a pilot project for some months. It has proved to be very successful and popular. It has so far been funded by Clarion Futures (an arm of Clarion Housing). People of all different shapes and sizes and fitness levels have been attending; the idea is to have fun, get some exercise and learn some basic effective self-defence.
The current course runs on Fridays from 9.30am-11:00am at Oasis Centre St Mary’s Cray Primary School up until 7th February, when we hope to get further funding. However, we may have to move to a different venue/day of the week (TBC).
All women are welcome; just come along or contact us via our website: www.selondonjujitsu.co.uk if you have any queries.
The more women who attend the more likely the initiative is to be supported. Current participants have rated it as ‘Excellent’.
Participants also said they have; made new friends, increased self-confidence and surprised themselves by what they achieved so quickly. One participant even suggested that everyone ought to be taught these skills at school.
